About Marilyn

I am a registered member of ACATA and my qualification is recognized within

the Australian Qualifications Framework. These qualifications and Codes of Practice set the standards of accountability I have to my clients to provide a safe, confidential and ethical practice.

As a ‘mature aged’ lady, I have a wealth of personal, life and work experience.

 

My work experience in South Africa as a Social Worker included working in:

• the Children’s, Magistrate’s and Supreme Courts, Industrial Schools, Prisons, as a Parole Officer, and in Children’s Homes;

• an organization for people suffering with Epilepsy;

• a large Aged Care facility.

 

As a Volunteer in Australia I have:

• provided my expertise as a Telephone Counsellor;

• offered my services at an Asylum Seekers’ Centre;

• worked at a Hospital offering personal care to patients, and assistance to staff;

• worked as a Spiritual Care practitioner in a hospital.

 

My employment in Australia has included working:

• in the Insurance Industry;

• in Radiology Departments;

• for a Forensic Psychiatrist;

• as an Art Therapist with young children and also with adults with Intellectual and Physical Disabilities.

• I am also an Artist.
